Creedence Clearwater Revival: "Pendulum" |
 |
Universal / Fantasy
Hot on the heels of the success of the “Cosmo’s Factory” album, "Pendulum", the bands’ sixth album, and second release for 1970 came out in December of that year. This album marked a dramatic change for the band with the addition of keyboards, saxophone into the songs. By now John Fogerty was at the forefront of the band and his song-writing would dominate this album.
For the first time no cover songs were included in a CCR album and behind the scenes there was growing tension between Tom and Brother John Fogerty over the direction the band was taking.

This internal strife was obviously reflected in this album with only two of the ten songs on the "Pendulum" reaching the charts. Two months after the release of Pendulum, Tom Fogerty would leave the band reducing CCR to a trio. This would be the beginning of the end of CCR’s reign at the top of the charts.
This re-mastered version of “Pendulum” comes with complete original album graphics and in depth liner notes once again by Joel Selvin, pop music editor of the San Francisco Chronicle.
