Editors note: the following is an copy of a response to the "Rave" letter, dated February 7, 2001.

GET OUT FROM UNDER YOUR ROCK

After reading your article on raves and the justification of it based on past history I am reminded instantly of a well known quote: "Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

As a participating member of the 60s generation having gained a bit of wisdom over the last few years understand that there are good and bad in all situations. The music, creativity and desire for change were good. This could have been accomplished much better and evolved into something greater.

Thinking adults have no problem with the music but the kind of drugs used present a different problem altogether. Only a moron would allow their child to attend a rave party without responsible adult supervision and if you think that drugs arent destroying our society you must get out from under your rock once in a while.

Signed,
J.Adams
