Segarini: "Vox Populi!" |

Originally from the west coast, Bob Segarini has been on the Canadian music scene since the mid 60's. He fronted The Ratz featuring Gary Duncan of Quicksilver Messenger Service, then moved on to the popular Family Tree with Michael Dure (aka Lee Michaels).
The Family Tree put out one record in 1968, 'Miss Butters', before Segarini moved to California. While in California he fronted Roxy who released one eponymous album on Elektra in 1970 then he formed The Wackers. Segarini returned to Canada in 1971 and the Wackers released three albums for the Elektra label ‘Wackering Heights' (1971), 'Hot Wacks (1972) and 'Shredder' (1973) along with the unreleased 'Wack 'N' Roll' in 1974 recorded just before the group fell apart. In 1974 Segarini and put together The Dudes with the founding members of April Wine (Ritchie and David Henman) and future April Wine guitarist Brian Greenway. They recorded one album called 'We're No Angels'.

In the late 70's Segarini embarked on a solo contract with the Toronto label Bomb Records and recorded his first and most successful album 'Gotta Have Pop' (1978). Two more albums followed on Bomb Records , 'Goodbye L.A.' (1980) and 'On The Radio' (1980) before the label folded. Upon the dissolution of Bomb Records, Segarini was signed to Anthem Records for one album 'Vox Populi' in 1981. After ‘Vox Populi’, Segarini retired from recording and became a disc jockey on Toronto's Q107 FM for several years . He would eventually would return to a band in the late 90's fronting a unit called Cats & Dogs and releasing a self-titled CD independently in 1997.
Vox Populi has finally been reissued by released by MaGaDa Heritage International. This reissue features the complete Anthem album, digitally remastered, with original album graphics. Although there are no additional tracks or in-depth liner notes with this set, this release is a welcome reissue of some sought after Canadian music that has been unavailable for many years.
