Hailing from Bellingham, Washington, this blonde-haired soft-rocker has teamed up with an experienced team of songwriters, mixers, and musicians to create a soft, yet powerful album. With songs by some well-known writers (including Jeff Silbar, who co-wrote Bette Midler’s “Wind Beneath My Wings"), Davis had some very good material to work with when recording at Beat Productions in Chiliwack, BC. Produced by Darren Staten, “This Day" presents a feather-light sound with catchy melodies and lyrics that speak of love, loss, and living life to the fullest.

Growing up singing in church and listening to gospel music, Teena Davis has had a firm foundation to work on throughout her career. Songs like “I Don’t Care Anymore" and “Phone Booth In The Rain" demonstrate her strong vocal ability and soulful style. Also included on this album is a dance remix of Davis’s single, “Forever". With her vocal skills, Davis has been described as having the “authenticity of a Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey". However, one may find that her music is somewhat lacking in variety, with many of her songs centered upon an invisible lover. Except for a couple of songs that make use of different content, this album may seem a bit homogenous to some.

For people who can’t get enough soft rock and soul, buying this album may be money well spent. But if you think you’ve heard enough about love, relationships, hoping and healing, then Teena Davis may not be headed for your CD collection “this day". Still, as far as pop goes…this album is overall recommended
